Nicole Covone was born into a family of successful lawyers. Her father, John Covone, is a well-known criminal defense lawyer who has represented high-profile clients such as O.J. Simpson and Casey Anthony. Nicole has also had the opportunity to work alongside her father in his law office, learning the ropes of being a criminal defense lawyer.
As a young girl, Nicole was always interested in law enforcement and crimefighting. She loved reading detective novels and watching crime dramas on TV. This love for investigative journalism eventually led Nicole to pursue a career in law enforcement herself. In 2008, she began working as a police officer in New York City. Here she was able to use her skills as a criminal defense lawyer to help solve crimes and defend officers from false accusations.
In 2013, Nicole left the NYPD to pursue her dream of becoming a prosecutor. She started working as an assistant district attorney in Brooklyn County, where she investigated and tried cases that involved violent crime, drug trafficking, and white-collar offenses. Since joining the prosecution team at Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office, Nicole has helped put dozens of criminals behind bars.
